Our faithfulness to fallacies of inferential diversion, scam the surrounding landscape of social intercourse with blissful simplicity for hasty conclusions. For the satiation of a soulful fabric in immediate gratification, expiation of the senses finds payment in an apology for ignorance, malevolence and evil. In confrontation with stresses and pains of growing in wisdom, it is easier to remain wistfully ignorant in magical thinking of murderous mystiques. For the saving grace of our own arrogance, we "explore" strange worlds from the emotional depths of cerebral prevarication. Intentional evasiveness from the subconscious to conscious levels of critical thinking requires hard work. And yet, we find ways and means to impersonate a lack of mature growth, the wisdom of due diligence and self-evolving development. In the neural complexity, everything in between and all around, provokes factual persecution for the sanctity of supernatural fiction.
Realism is confounded by myth, magic and mystery. By the clever contrivance of "cosmic consciousness", logic can be out-voted by the pretentiousness of emotion. We travel through our brief time to insist that all things are trouble fee and well settled so we're not too fearful, comfortable and live forever. And yet, mortality scares the hell out of us. We find feeling, meaning and feel better about ourselves through magical thinking. Our necessity of being has implications, with elements of both good and evil. Our actions make imprints on the cosmic realm we traverse daily, weekly and to the end of time, or so we think. Mind, body and something about spirit, collude in unison to define the reality we think we ought to live. People believe what they want to believe.
But, then again, some people kill other people and that really threatens our "peace of mind". Forget the temporary obsessions with UFO's, paranormal hosting and ghostly probing. From the singular murderer and state-sanctioned genocide, historical revisionism meets our salacious needs through short-term recall. For immediate gratification in mythic fascinations, separating fact from fiction chases the "authenticity" of our cognitive biases, regardless of evidentiary veracity. The mind, an illusion created as a mirror for the brain's dueling hemispheres, enjoys a good gambit in confounding fantasy with actuality. For the fun of selfishness, hope springs eternal. In the persistent faithfulness of self-delight, some devotedly neglect testing the truth.
And so, when it comes to murder, perceptions adapt extra-terrestrial fantasies to the flirtations associated with magical thinking from feelings and emotions. Selfishly, hope springs eternal that a definitive simple-minded explanation completely answers the ultimate question, "why". Perhaps a "single bullet" theory sums it all up by the end of the news hour, followed by a distracting "feel good" commercial. Very easily, people shift from the horrors of reported genocidal atrocities, to saving money on their next investment. It's more comfortable that way. The blur becomes even more enticing when you add the mix of cunningly contrived television dramas.
